MBRS Services for Malaysian Companies Approved by MDEC
What is MBRS? SSM’s Digital Reporting System
Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS) is a digital platform introduced by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia or SSM) for the submission of various corporate and financial information by companies. The MBRS aims to streamline and modernize the reporting process, making it more efficient and transparent.
In preparing the XBRL file for financial statements, preparers are required to convert non-financial and financial information within the signed and audited financial statements to relevant matching element labels within the Malaysian Business Reporting System (MBRS) Taxonomy, which has been created to reflect the latest reporting and disclosure requirements of the MFRS Accounting Standards (formerly known as Malaysian Financial Reporting Standards), the Malaysian Private Entity Reporting Standards (MPERS) and Companies Act 2016. The onus is on each company’s directors to submit their annual financial statements digitally to Suruhanjaya Syarikat Malaysia (SSM) through the MBRS portal (mPortal).
